Patient Needs – Interview with Jean Dean

By admin | Sep 22, 2009

Hi Everyone,

I had an interview this morning at 8:35am CT with Jean Dean, host of 94.1 fm/930 am on Huntigton’s Supertalk in West Virginia. I didn’t know the interview was live, I thought it was recorded to be played at a later date. Anyway, it was live, and recorded.

I took the older 2 kids to school at 7:50 am and the streets to my house flooded (we finally got some rain, a lot!) so I parked at 8:25 am when I returned and sloshed through the water to get to our house to do the interview.

In the interview she dubs me as a “Patient Care Coach”. How official :) Here is the link

In this interview I tell of some of the do’s and don’ts when it comes to visiting a patient in the hospital. If you are faced with this challenging situation presently or sometime in the future, prepare yourself with the insights from this interview.

Questions posed include:

-What should you do before entering a patient’s room?
-Should you stay for a long time on your visit?
-Should you send flowers or a card?
-Should you call on the phone?
-What can you do for the person when they are recovering at home.
-and more…

Here is the link to the mp3 file (right click and choose “Save As” to save the file to your computer. It’s around 13 minutes.
