Spiritual Faith Healing

By admin | Sep 16, 2009

Hi everyone,

I thought the article at:

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/Religion/post/2009/09/religion-enhances-health-hope-hype-or-both-/1

was really good, very interesting. I came up with 4 questions and answers in regards to this article, you can read below.

-Does church attendance make you healthier?

The act of going to church does not heal you. Faith has to be combined with belief and action for it to be beneficial. You must put your total trust that God can treat your situation. The singer Carmen, sang in a song called “Leap of Faith”, “…steppin’ out on nothing and finding something there…”

I believe God healed my body, because He is more than able to, and then I take vitamin supplements to strengthen my immune system and my other bodily systems.

Medicine has its place, but God can do, when the doctor says it can’t be done.

When your mind finally believes the promises given in the Bible you come closer to your physical healing.

When you realize and believe the words written in the Bible that God is a healer, then you can be physically healed.

-Can meditation really reduce stress and enhance health?

Meditation takes your focus and concentration off of what you are currently dealing with, and puts that focus onto someone that can truly handle the situation you are going through. Thus meditation reduces stress, and since stress can damage you health, it can enhance your health.

Take 10 minutes out to find a Bible verse which declares your healing, and think about how God can take your disease and lift it from your body.

Imagine, with your eyes closed what you would be like in perfect health.

Can faith actually heal a person?

Sure your faith can heal. You have to believe in something strong enough. That belief can heal your body. Prayers from others can help you when you are in the hospital, but you have to believe that you are going to rise out of that bed.

Also, your belief in that you will fully recover when you leave the hospital is integral to your complete healing. That belief is strengthened by your faith.

Are prayer studies really foolish?

My definition for “Prayer studies” is the study of the way prayer works in a certain situation.

I don’t think prayer studies are necessarily foolish. I think they are kind of interesting. I don’t think that they are necessarily accurate. With prayer you have 1. The person doing the praying, and, 2. The person receiving the prayer.

Most prayer studies don’t state that there was any belief on the part of the one receiving the prayer, just that they were prayed for.

Belief is a big player in prayer being effective.

Use modern medicine, but realize that God can do when the doctor can do no more.
